1st Edition | 17 - 18 September 2021 | CERN
The first edition of Sparks!, the serendipity forum, a two-day multidisciplinary science innovation forum and public event, will take place on 17-18 September 2021 at CERN.
The theme of the first edition of Sparks is Future Intelligence and will on 17 and 18 September 2020 at CERN. The flow, analysis and interpretation of vast amounts of information is a core strength of CERN, in particular when searching for tiny signals in vast datasets, while avoiding bias and being open to novel technologies. As the particle physics challenge intensifies, CERN is set to be in the vanguard of a coming together of big data and Artificial Intelligence. Below some of the topics we are planning to address during the events:
The participants to the forum and public event will be selected AI professionals, along with neuroscientists, psychologists, philosophers and ethics experts who work or are interested in AI. Together, they will brainstorm solutions, match problems to answers, and prepare some of the content of the second day.
